Friday weigh-in #4

This morning’s weight:  132.8

My other most recent weigh-ins:  134.2 (8/8), 132 (8/2), 131.8 (7/26), 133 (7/19),  134.4 (7/13)

Seeing this pattern leads me to believe that really, my weight is around 135.  With a “happy weight” of 130 and a goal weight of 125, I think I have 5 pounds to lose!  🙂

The good thing is that 4 weeks of rest for my broken pinky toe ended this week.  I’m going to TRY to get back in the gym.  I really hope the pinky toe is all good now!

Aaaaalrighty, onto the food!  I started today with a shake…

Yes, very weird combo, haha.  For lunch, I hit up Pei-Wei with the hubs.



And tonight we stayed in, watched some TV, and ate pizza from Flippers!

Food i 8 today:

  • protein shake –> 1 C spinach, 3/4 C almond milk, 1 scoop Sun Warrior protein powder, 1/2 banana, ice
  • 1 container Green Giant frozen peas
  • Pei Wei Mongolian tofu and vegetables + 1 veggie spring roll
  • 1/2 a medium pineapple pizza
  • ANZAC cookie from my fave vegan bakery!



late night protein shake

This morning I was hungry fairly early for some breakfast!  I didn’t plan ahead, so I ate a Fiber One bar from my stash of goodies at work.



I had another Qdoba salad bowl (unpictured) for lunch with my colleagues.

I needed  a little something in the afternoon, so I popped a bag of 100 calorie kettle corn popcorn that I also had stashed in my drawer at work.



My brain was SO fried when I got home from work, so I immediately laid down for a nap.  It was quite late when I finally woke up (hehe), and I didn’t have a huge appetite, so I just whipped up a protein shake.



Food i 8 today:

  • Fiber One bar
  • Qdoba salad –> lettuce, black beans, roasted veggies, pico de gallo, salsa verde, guacamole
  • bag of 100-calorie kettle corn popcorn
  • protein shake –> 1 C spinach, 3/4 C almond milk, 1 scoop Sun Warrior protein powder, 1/2 banana, ice

Qdoba + a happy hour

The crazy days just keep coming!  I didn’t get around to breakfast again (bad BAD), but went to lunch with some colleagues at the student union/food court.  I went with a black bean and veggie salad from Qdoba–add the guac please.  Yum!



In the afternoon, I snacked on a larabar to hold me over til dinner.



I went to an unexpected, fun happy hour around 5pm, and was STARVING by the time I got home.

I snacked on some carrots and hummus and then ate some leftovers (sweet potatoes and corn) from a BBQ outing last weekend.

That’s about it!

Food i 8 today:

  • Qdoba salad (black beans, lettuce, roasted veggie mix, salsa verde, pico de gallo, guacamole)
  • apple pie Larabar
  • draft Miller Lite beer
  • carrots + hummus
  • leftover sweet potatoes and corn

Today I had another day of faculty orientation.  I skipped out on breakfast, but had half of a veggie sandwich and a chocolate chip cookie for lunch.

I was SO hungry on my drive home, so I whipped out a quick snack.




I got a giftcard to Chilis/On the Border/Maggiano’s/Macaroni Grill, from my sister for my graduation, and we opted for one of the Italian joints.  We started off with their delicious bread loaf.  I also enjoyed a nice glass of Malbec wine.




For my “main meal”, I had a Caesar salad–no croutons, dressing on the side.  It was pretty good!  Mmmmm but that bread loaf was so so good!

Food i 8 today:

  • 1/2 veggie sandwich + 1 chocolate chip cookie
  • blueberry Lara bar
  • bread loaf + Caesar salad + glass of red wine

taco salad night!

Today was day #1 of 2 of new faculty orientation–woohoo!

This morning I had just a few bites of a granola/walnut/dried berry mix.

Lunch was some layered bread, cheese, and veggie thang.  It was pretty good!

We ran around all afternoon/evening doing house-hunting things and then stopped to eat at a burrito place after.  I got a black bean and veggie “taco”salad.



And that’s about it, folks!  Still not eating very cleanly.  I blame it on crazy life.  No routine.  I know I sound like a broken record, but I desperately NEED to get back on track!

Food i 8 today:

  • small handful of granola, walnuts, dried berries
  • side salad + veggie/cheese/bread stack thingy + few bites of sorbet
  • 2 chocolate chip cookies
  • 1 black bean and veggies salad

Friday eats

I’ve been maaaajorly slacking in the food photography arena.  Bad blogger!  But, I’m ready to get back on track.  Life should be returning to “normal” fairly soon.  I need to sit down and think about how the blog is going to fit into life with the new, “busier” job of mine!

For now, the list of the food i 8 today will just have to suffice:

  • Qdoba veggie salad –> romaine lettuce, roasted veggies, fajita veggies, pico, salsa verde + coke zero
  • apple pie Larabar
  • 1 banana + 2 TBSP natural peanut butter
  • Bahama Breeze dinner –> 1 Miller Light draft beer, 1/2 a roasted veggie sandwich, side tomato salad
  • Dairy Queen vanilla soft serve cone with sprinkles

I am going to make a better effort to take food photos starting this weekend!

An early Friday weigh-in #3

I was bad this week. Real bad!  Graduation weekend entailed Mexican food, sangria, beer, champagne toasts, lasagna, cheeseballs, cake, cannolis, and cookies.  My eats at the conference included pizza, fries, tater tots, a brownie, a black and white cookie (or two), and more drinking.  Both events were tons of fun!

This all translates into a scale reading of…..  –> 134.2!  I’m up.  By a few pounds.  I knew I would be.  I wanted to face the music this Thursday morning, so I did.

Today was my first day of work at the university, too!  We celebrated with a faculty lunch that included a falafel pita and dinner at a fave pizza joint with the hubs.  I am enjoying life.  The scale is up, but that’s ok.  No exercise will do that.  Life events will do that.

Routine, healthy meals, regular exercise, cooking, eating in more…all around the corner.  It’s been a fun-filled week.  Happy weekend to you!!!

A late Friday weigh-in #2

I was at 132 pounds on Friday–up a little from last week, but I can’t complain considering my lack of ANY exercise whatsoever.

Ahem…excuse my absence.  I went out of town Friday afternoon for my graduation, the house we rented for the weekend had no wifi, and I was in airports all day today for an accounting conference out in California.

I’ll try to check in when I can, but there won’t be many food photos with all my accounting friends around.   🙂

Waaaay too few calories today, but the day just got away from me!  I guess it’s alright since I weigh in tomorrow!

Food i 8 today:

  • protein shake –> handful of kale, 3/4 C almond milk, 1 TBSP crunchy sunbutter, 1/2 banana, 1 scoop Sun Warrior chocolate protein powder, ice
  • lunch hodgepodge –> 3 oz + 1/3 of a Sabra guac container, leftover roasted vegetables, edamame/cranberry/goat cheese salad from The Fresh Market
  • dinner –> 1 Morningstar spicy black bean burger patty + 2 TBSP Publix medium salsa
