Waaaay too few calories today, but the day just got away from me!  I guess it’s alright since I weigh in tomorrow!

Food i 8 today:

  • protein shake –> handful of kale, 3/4 C almond milk, 1 TBSP crunchy sunbutter, 1/2 banana, 1 scoop Sun Warrior chocolate protein powder, ice
  • lunch hodgepodge –> 3 oz + 1/3 of a Sabra guac container, leftover roasted vegetables, edamame/cranberry/goat cheese salad from The Fresh Market
  • dinner –> 1 Morningstar spicy black bean burger patty + 2 TBSP Publix medium salsa

Today I just ate too. much. food.  That’s the only way to sum it up!  You can see the details below.  Tomorrow I will NOT be going crazy on the food front!

Food i 8 today:

  • brunch @ a diner –> 1/2 an egg-white veggie omelette, 1/2 order of hash browns, 2 slices of whole wheat toast, too many bites of my husband’s waffle fries
  • dinner @ a Mexican joint –> way way waaaay too many chips and salsa, one small Mich Ultra, a veggie quesadilla with guacamole on the side
  • split a McDonald’s soft serve vanilla cone w/the hubs

Today I had a baby shower, but I was really not that hungry.  I actually felt a little gross from the 2 glasses of wine last night.  TWO glasses is all it takes now!  So I just had some blueberries, a slice of a cinnamon bread thing, and 1/2 a cupcake.

Lunch was last night’s leftovers.

Then dinner started with this…

And it’s never a good thing when dinner starts with that.  I eat WAY too many chips AND order a meal.  And it’s just too much food.

I ended up just getting one tempeh taco, but I had just way too much chips and salsa/guac.

After dinner it was already about 9pm, but we met up with friends and continued eating/drinking.  We got some fries to munch on and then ended the evening with McDonald’s Oreo McFlurries.  SO BAD!  It’s so hard to say “no” in social settings with friends.  I need to just stop being social…or learn some self-control!

Oye vey, another night feeling way too full.  😦  I might skip the scale in the morning!

My latest favorite!  I start with a couple cups (roughly) of spinach, then heat and chop up a Lightlife black bean veggie burger, and top it off with a few tablespoons of Publix salsa.  It’s delish!  I’ve started to eat veggie burgers bun-less in general, even when I’m out.  Why? Because I’d rather forego a white bread bun in favor of a little dessert treat later!  A bun doesn’t do much for me, but a cookie sure does.  Balance people!

I’m a little low on cals again today, but I’ve seriously just been following hunger cues.  I stuffed myself silly many days last week, so I think my body is thanking me for taking it easier this week.

Today we took an hour long drive to meet my sister and my three nieces for some fun in the sun.  We hung out at the pool for roughly four hours and just played and basked in the sun.  It was a good time!  We brought Publix subs to the pool for lunch.

I also snacked on some dried pears and some of a gnu foods banana walnut fiber bar.  We stopped at a southwestern type place for dinner on the way home.   I went with a black bean salad in a whole wheat tortilla shell.

This morning I slept in a bit, relaxed, and finished watching the rest of the Sherlock Holmes movie we started last night, but I fell asleep watching.  😉  Whoops!  Afterward, I did some work, whipped up an oats/banana/almond butter/almond milk mixture to store in the refrigerator for my evening snack, and had a late “breakfast”.

I went with an Amy’s veggie patty, salsa, and half of an avocado.  For lunch, I had another serving of the black and red bean soup I made a little while ago.  It’s probably ready to be thrown out, but I’m not willing to toss it just yet!  (…and it does still taste good).

I bought a fun, new snack at The Fresh Market today.  I got a container full of coconut-date rolls.  So delish, and just about 100 calories each!

For dinner, we went out for some Asian fare.  We’re on a total Asian kick lately!  Lots of tofu and sushi for me.

Then, as planned, I had my evening snack of “overnight” oats.  Delicious as always!  I have a 6am Body Pump class on the schedule for tomorrow, so I’m hitting the hay early.

  • serving of homemade black and red bean soup

Workout:  5-minute warm-up jog + 50 minute bike ride

I started the day NOT with stepping on the scale, but with my workout.  Then I ate my fave–banana + peanut butter mix.  We took my nieces to lunch at Chick-fil-A for lunch and some playground fun.  I didn’t eat any chicken, so right when we got home I had some leftover taco (black bean) salad.

20121228_saladAfter playing “Operation” with my nieces and hanging out for a bit, we ate an early dinner.  I had some leftover spinach lasagna from Christmas day.

20121228_lasagna(I just had the two top pieces).  Then we took my sister and I took our nieces to an elementary school roller skating night.  They had such a good time!  We had fun chasing them around, too.  On the way home, of course we had to go for ice cream!  That’s two nights in a row of evening ice cream runs.  What can I say, it’s my vacation!  I went for the peanut butter fudge flavor–delish.
